Luckily for my son it is his birthday around halloween time, and with the traditional Swedish kids party thing of having a party with your mates and then one with your family it means he is getting not one birthday cake but two this year. Which is good for me as I get to play around a bit more.
This is the first one of his birthday cakes. He wanted a chocolate and caramel cake but I thought that the browns of chocolate could be a little boring for a 9 year old so I went with some white chocolate and then to town on the colouring.
The base was a caramel sponge which had alternating layers of purple coloured white chocolate swiss buttercream and dulche de leche. The outside was covered in a layer of blue coloured white chocolate and decorated with an orange chocolate drip, orange and chocolate macarons, home made mahoosive white chocolate buttons and a good old selection of some classic sweets and treats… oh and a bit of gold bling.
Not a bad thing to be woken up in the morning with a ‘here you go son, stuff your face full of sweets at 6 in the morning’. Perfect. He loved it we loved it, everyone happy. Jobs a good’n.
